Nagarjunasagar Dam

Nagarjunasagar Dam :

Nagarjunasagar Dam is located in Andhra Pradesh state, Nalgonda district.

The dam provides irrigeation with to the Nalgonda, Prakasam, ,Khammam ,Krishna and Guntur aling with Electric Power th the national grid.

It is the one of the most prominent Buddist centres and attraction tourist spots in Andhra Pradesh .This is the 3rd largest lake in the world.

Nagarjunasagar project was officially inagurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 10th December 1955.

After 12 years the reservior water was releasd into the left and right bank cancels by prime minister Indira Gandhi.

Nagarjunasagar is one of the most visited destinations in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.

It is located in the Nalgonda district of the state and is around 150 km from Hyderbad.

Tracing the history of this modern township, you will know that it was warlier calles Vijauapuri, or the city of victory.
